Aladdin's Wishes on 3Win8: How the Magic Lamp Pick Feature Works

Aladdin's Wishes is a cartoon Arabian Nights slot on 3Win8, with a purple night sky, a genie grinning out of the reels and three jackpot boxes along the top. The reason to play it is the lamp feature: land enough Magic Lamps and you pick lamps for cash prizes, with one lamp hiding 25 free games.

Paying both ways

All symbols pay left to right and right to left, except the scattered Magic Lamps, which pay anywhere. That doubles the ways a line can connect, and it is the first thing that makes this game feel busier than a standard 20-liner. Only the highest win on each line is paid; wins on different lines are added together.

Symbols on the reels include the genie, Aladdin himself, a sack of gold, a white vase, a red carpet, a jewelled ring, a bowl of fruit and a scimitar.

Aladdin, the wild

Aladdin appears only on reels 2, 3 and 4 and substitutes for everything except the Magic Lamp. When one or more Aladdins complete a win, the prize is doubled. Because he never lands on reel 1 or 5, he is always in the middle of a combination, which works well with the both-ways pays.

The Aladdin's Wishes feature

Three or more Magic Lamp scatters, reading left to right or right to left, trigger the feature:

1. Five lamps are revealed.
2. You get one pick per scatter in the trigger.
3. If you pick the Magic Lamp, you win 25 free games.
4. Every other lamp gives a credit prize of 2, 5, 10, 25 or 100 times the triggering bet.

During the free games all prizes are doubled, and the feature can be retriggered. The free games use the same lines and bet as the spin that started them, so your bet at the moment of the trigger is locked in.

Jackpots and the bet panel

Above the reels sit Minor, Random Jackpot and Major. The rules describe a progressive jackpot that can be won at the end of any game, triggered at random, with a contribution the page puts at no more than 1.5% of the total return to player.

The panel has Lines and Line Bet with arrows, then the total. 20 lines at 0.10 costs 2.00 a spin. The third screenshot shows 5 lines at 0.02 (0.10 a spin) paying 0.10 for three vases on line 2.

Pacing

Since the free games copy the triggering bet, the size of the feature depends entirely on what you were betting when the lamps landed. Keeping all 20 lines on and choosing a line bet you can hold for a long session makes more sense here than jumping the bet up and down.
