Golden Toad on Joker123 is a fish shooting game, and the star is exactly what the name says: a huge jade-green toad that swims across the top of the tank. It is the most valuable regular target on the paytable, at 300x your bet. Everything else in the game is there to keep your cannon busy while you wait for it.

The toad (the Jin Chan or money toad) is a classic Chinese wealth symbol, which explains why it takes the top spot rather than a dragon.

The table and your cannon

The rule at the top is WIN = BET x ODDS. The ladder runs:

  • small reef fish, puffers, turtles and clownfish: 2x to 12x
  • butterfly fish, rays, marlin and a lantern fish: 15x to 30x
  • the silver sawfish: 35x
  • golden fish and big-fin fish: 40x, 80x and 100x
  • the silver and golden dragons: 150x and 200x
  • the toad: 300x

The special catches are the same set used across Joker123's fish games: Chain Lightning (up to 5 fish around the target), Full Catch (all fish of one type), Neptune Needle (10-second stun plus 50x bet), Triple and Quadruple Catch, and the "Kill 'Em All" Dynamite that clears the screen for at least 100x bet.

Waves and formations

Every so often the tank empties out completely. That is the scene change, and it is a good moment to check your balance.

What follows can be a formation: rows of small striped fish marching in from both sides, with a silver sawfish and a golden fish swimming through the middle. The small ones fall easily and pay small amounts, which is where the string of 0.20 wins below came from.

Keeping the cost down

At the small per-shot bets shown on the cannons the numbers look tiny, but Auto can fire several bullets a second and they add up fast. The toad is a long-odds target that every seat at the table is shooting at. A steadier way to play is Lock On at the lowest bet, aimed at mid-value fish, and a stop point decided before you start.
