Ocean on Live22: A Four-Player Fish Shooting Table with a Golden Sea Dragon

Ocean is the fish shooting game in the Live22 lobby. Old descriptions called it a slot with dolphins and sharks, but what you actually get is an arcade table: four cannons, a red undersea cave, and schools of fish you pay to shoot at. This page explains the screen and how to control your spend, since that is the part new players get wrong.

The table layout

Each corner of the screen holds a cannon seat. Yours is bottom left, with your player ID and balance in a pink box (5,537 at the start of our session). The other three seats show their own IDs and balances. Under your cannon is a round dial with the shot value, 10 in our screenshots, and green minus and plus buttons either side. A blue arrow on the right edge opens the side menu.

What swims past

The cave fills with targets of different sizes:

• Clownfish and yellow-striped reef fish (small, common)
• Purple puffers and pink octopus
• A large blue-and-white fish with a long bill
• A golden sea dragon that snakes across the screen

Between waves a huge shadowy creature with glowing yellow eyes fills the centre of the cave. It looks like a boss wave announcing itself, but we did not capture what happens next.

When a shot lands, a net opens and the payout floats up as a number. We saw 38 and 10 pop up during our session.

How the money works

Every shot costs the value on your dial. Hold the fire and you can spend hundreds of credits a minute at 10 per shot, while small fish pay back only a small multiple. Our balance moved from 5,537 to 5,576 across the two screenshots, so it is possible to tread water, but the pace is much faster than a slot.

Set the dial low while you learn which fish are worth shooting. Aim at the larger targets once you can see them taking hits, and stop firing at stragglers heading off screen.
