Casino War on 918Kiss (SCR888): One Card Each, High Card Wins

The simplest card game in the 918Kiss lobby: you get one card, the dealer gets one, higher card wins. The only real decision comes when the cards tie.

Casino War is the children's card game War with a dealer and a chip rack added. You get one card, the dealer gets one, and the higher card wins. Aces are high. In the 918Kiss version a round takes a few seconds, and the table is almost bare because there is so little to decide.

How a round plays

  1. Pick a chip from the rack and tap one or more of the five boxes. The screenshots show two boxes played at once, each with a 0.5 main bet and a 1 chip beside it.
  2. The dealer's card goes face up at the top of the table, and each of your boxes gets one card.
  3. Any box with a higher card than the dealer wins even money. Lower loses.

In the screenshots the dealer turns up a 3 of hearts against a queen and a 10, so both boxes win and the bottom of the screen reads YOU WIN: 2.

Ties and going to war

A tie is where the game earns its name. In standard Casino War rules you are offered two choices:

  • Surrender: give up half your stake and end the round.
  • Go to war: add a second bet equal to the first, the dealer burns some cards and deals one more to each side. Win and you are paid on the raise while the original bet is returned; lose and both bets go.

The screenshots do not catch a tie, so check the help screen (menu icon, top right) for how this table pays war outcomes.

The tie side bet

Printed across the felt: TIE BETS PAY 10 TO 1. This is a separate bet that your card and the dealer's card will match in rank. It pays well when it lands, but it is priced so the house keeps a much bigger slice than on the main bet.

Chips, limits and buttons

The rack runs 0.5, 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000, the widest spread of any 918Kiss table game. The panel in the top left shows MIN: 0.5 and MAX: 1000. Before dealing, a Rebet button repeats your last layout; after the result it becomes New Game. Your Current Balance is bottom left.

Pacing it

The main bet is close to a coin toss with a small house edge coming from ties. Keep to one box and a flat stake, skip the tie bet, and a RM20 balance lasts a reasonable while. Playing five boxes just multiplies the swing.

Questions players ask

Do players really win more than half the time at Casino War?

No. Ignoring ties, you and the dealer each win about half the rounds. The house makes its edge on ties, where you either give up half your stake or double it to go to war on worse terms.

Is the tie bet a good idea?

It pays 10 to 1, which sounds generous, but a tie comes up much less often than that price suggests. It is the costliest bet on the table.
