Dragon Palace Wukong in Playboy Casino (Play8oy): Items, Cannons and the Wukong Boss

Dragon Palace Wukong is the fish-shooting table in the Playboy Casino (also written Play8oy) lobby. It is not a slot, whatever the old descriptions said. Up to four players sit at the corners of an underwater palace, each with a cannon, and fish, turtles, rays and bosses swim through the middle. You pay for every shot and win when a fish you hit is caught.

The table

Each corner shows a player name, balance and cannon value. In our captures the cannons were set to 10 and 20, and the green - and + buttons under your own cannon change it. The background is the Dragon King's palace, with a stone dragon beside the steps. Sun Wukong himself floats in on a cloud with his staff, and he is the fish you most want to hit.

Small fish like clownfish come in schools and die easily; big targets such as the rays and the Wukong boss take many shots. That is the whole economy of a fish game: many cheap hits on small fish, or a longer spend hoping to land a big one.

Weapon controls

The help screen labels every control:

• Sustained Fire: the Auto button keeps your cannon shooting. Tapping the screen also speeds up the rate of fire.
• Change Weapon / Change Bet: the cannon model and the - / + value (the example shows 10K).
• Target Button: select a fish and the cannon keeps locking on to it. Combine it with Auto to follow one fish across the screen.
• Choose Function: a side menu with record, home, info, sound and view options.

The four items

The Item Information panel lists what you can use during play:

• Freeze stops every fish in place for a while. It can be used when a boss is on the field.
• Laser Cannon is a special weapon with a higher chance of catching many fish, usable when a big school appears.
• Summon-Fish fills the field with a random batch of fish.
• Summon-Wukong calls in the Wukong boss. Catching Wukong triggers the multiplier feature.

The panel does not say how you earn items, so check the in-game help.

Staying in control

Fish games burn credit faster than slots because you can fire several times a second. Before you switch Auto on, set the cannon to a value your budget can take for a few hundred shots, and use Target on medium fish rather than spraying the whole screen. Raise the cannon only when Freeze is active or a boss is on the field.
