Playboy Casino (Play8oy): What the App Is and What It Holds

Players call it Playboy Casino. The app itself says Casino Play8oy, with an 8 in place of the B, above three pink dancing silhouettes. It is a Malaysian-market casino app and has nothing to do with Playboy Enterprises or the magazine. The name is the most memorable thing about it. The games inside are a mix of familiar slots and a few card tables.

First screen: a login, nothing else

Open the app and you get one line of text, "Please enter you username and password to log in" (the typo is theirs), a User ID box, a Password box and a Login button. There is no sign-up link, no guest mode and no password reset.

Score, not ringgit

Inside the games your balance is labelled Score, with a gold star icon in the top-left corner. Bets are in the same units. Ask your agent how Score converts to RM on your account before depositing, and keep that number in your head. It is easy to spend 100 Score a spin without thinking about what it costs.

Every slot uses the same bottom bar:

Total Play is Lines x Play. At 25 lines and Play 4, that is 100 per spin. At 9 lines and Play 2, it is 18.

Many games also carry four jackpot meters across the top: Grand, Major, Minor and Mini. As on every platform, the app does not say how or how often they pay.

Each pair shares a title or a theme, but the screens differ. The Play8oy Great Blue, for example, keeps the underwater look: shark, turtle, starfish and seahorse over bubbled card letters, with 25 lines numbered down both sides. Show Hands: pick a hall first

Show Hands is the card table. Before you see a single card it asks you to "Please select a hall", with two options: Table Limit 2000 - 5000 and Table Limit 5000 - 10000. Those are Score units, and they are high next to slot bets of 18 or 100. Check what 2000 Score is worth in RM before sitting down.

Devices

The 2018 download page listed an iPhone app, an Android APK and a Windows client, none of them from an official store. Installing means trusting an enterprise profile on iPhone, allowing an unknown source on Android, or clicking past a Windows warning. Only do that for a file from someone you trust. Before you top up

1. Log in and check the Score balance matches what the agent told you.
2. Find out the Score-to-RM rate and write it down.
