Golden Rooster is a Lunar New Year slot in the Playboy Casino (also written Play8oy) lobby: red reels, a bowl of gold ingots at the top, "All Ways" down both edges and a rooster stacked three high on reel two. It runs on the same bet system as Fortune Tree, where a Gold Symbol setting decides how much the premium symbols are worth. Understanding that one control is most of the game.
Active Symbols and the Gold Symbol bet
At the top of the screen is a strip labelled Active Symbols with four icons: a rooster, a jade disc, an ingot and a string of firecrackers. In our session, with Gold Symbol at 48 and Play at 1, those were the plain versions: a white rooster, green jade, silver ingot and red firecrackers. Total Play is Gold Symbol times Play, so 48 per spin.
The paytable: gold pays ten times more
The Odds Symbol page puts each premium side by side in gold and plain form. For five / four / three of a kind:

The plain premiums pay exactly the same as a 9 or an ace. At a low Gold Symbol setting the reels look festive, but the paytable is flat, and the gold coin is the best regular symbol you can hit.
Scatter and free games
The scatter is a round gold medallion. Five of them give 20 free games and four give 15. The rule text reads "3 or more consecutive" scatters or purple 福 tiles "from left to" right, so the 福 tile appears to count towards the trigger too. The rest is cut off, so tap i before relying on that.
Sizing the bet
This is the one slot where the cheapest stake genuinely changes the game rather than just scaling it. Two ways to play it:
- Low Gold Symbol, longer session. Wins come from coins, cards and free games. Fine for passing time on a small RM balance, but do not expect big line hits.
- Higher Gold Symbol, fewer spins. The gold rooster and gold jade come into play. The jackpot meters (Grand 111343 and Major 20345 in our captures) were live even at 48, and the screenshots do not show what wins them.
