Roulette on Mega888: Single-Zero Tables and What the Stats Screen Really Tells You

Roulette in the Mega888 lobby is the ordinary European game: a wheel with numbers 0 to 36 and a single green zero, and a blue felt table with the usual inside and outside bets. There is nothing exotic about the layout. What is different is the lobby screen, which shows a set of statistics that look useful and are not.

The lobby: two tables and a wall of numbers

Before you sit down, you pick a table. Two are listed, [A] 0.5-1000 and [B] 0.5-1000, each with a countdown to the next spin and a strip of statistics:

• The last eleven results, as coloured number balls.
• A row of numbers with figures under them (9.0, 7.0, 5.0 and so on), which read as how often each has come up recently: in other words, "hot" and "cold" numbers.
• Percentage boxes: Red 43% and Black 55% on table A, Even 50%, Odd 48%, Zero 2%, and the three dozens.
• Section bets from the French game: Voisins (the neighbours of zero), Tier (tiers du cylindre, the section opposite zero) and Orphelins (the rest).

Why the stats do not help

Every spin of a fair wheel is independent. A run of black does not make red "due", and a number marked 9.0 is not hot in any way that carries forward. The screen is there to give you something to look at between spins. Pick bets because you like them, not because of these figures.

The table and bets

Once seated, the wheel spins over the felt, and the numbers 1 to 36 sit in three rows with 0 in a green box on the left. Around them:

• 1 st 12, 2 nd 12, 3 rd 12: dozens, paying 2 to 1.
• 2to1 boxes at the end of each row: columns, paying 2 to 1.
• 1 to 18, Even, red, black, Odd, 19 to 36: even-money bets.
• Single numbers pay 35 to 1 in standard roulette, with splits, streets and corners paying less.

With one zero, the house edge on a standard European wheel is 2.7% on every bet. No combination of bets changes that.

Chips and buttons

The chip rack along the bottom holds 0.5, 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000, and the corner panel shows MIN 0.5 and MAX 1000. Save Bet stores a layout you use often, Auto Rebet repeats your last bet every spin, and the Optional Keyboard panel in the top left shows a grid of recent results. The timer in the round dial counts down the betting window. Bet, Win and Balance sit bottom left.

Keeping it sensible

At 0.5 a chip, roulette can be as slow or fast as you make it. Even-money bets give the gentlest ride; straight-up numbers swing hardest. Set a stop and keep Auto Rebet off.
